Speaker I: Prof. Shunli Wang, Academic leader of the National Electrical Safety and Quality Testing Center, Academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Smart Energy Storage Institute, China

Shunli Wang received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Information Engineering, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Mianyang, China. He is currently a Professor with the Southwest University of Science and Technology. He is currently an Authoritative Expert of the new energy research field and the Leader of New Energy Measurement and Control Research Team. He has undertaken more than 40 projects and 30 patents, authored or coauthored more than 150 research papers.,Dr. Wang was the recipient of 20 awards, such as the Young Scholar, Science and Technology Progress Award, University-Enterprise Innovative Talent Team and National Electrical Safety and Quality Inspection Center (Sichuan) Academic Leader, developed multi-generational battery systems to improve the reliability and expand the application field with significant social and economic benefits.

Speaker II: Prof. Nídia Caetano, Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal

Coordinator Professor at the School of Engineering (ISEP) of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP), Sub-Director of the Chemical Engineering Depart. of ISEP for the Infrastructures and Facilities (2014-2016). Director of The Master Course in Sustainable Energies of ISEP (Mechanical Eng. Depart.), since March 2013. Technical expert for the ANINOV (Agência Nacional de Inovação). Technical Expert for the USDOA (SBIR program). Technical expert for the Israeli Dep. Agricult. Reviewer for African Journal of Biotechnology, Algal Research, Bioenergy Research,  Bioresource Technology, Biotechnology Journal, Water Science & Technology, Fuel, Energy, Energy & Fuels, Clean Technologies & Environmental Polycies, Journal of Biotechnology, JAOCS, Sustainability, Waste and Biomass Valorization, etc. She has authored or co-authored +150 conference and journal papers with referee process, 11 book chapters, and was the invited lecturer of several conferences. Her research interests include biofuels production, waste & biomass valorization, microalgae production and valorization, education on sustainability.

Speaker III: Prof. Mohammadreza Aghaei, University of Freiburg, Germany; Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway

Mohammadreza Aghaei received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 2016. He joined Fraunhofer ISE as visiting scholar in 2015. He was a Postdoctoral Scientist at Fraunhofer ISE and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB)-PVcomB, Germany, in 2017 and 2018, respectively. He has been joined the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH), Solar Energy Engineering at the University of Freiburg, as a Senior Lecturer since 2017. Later, he also fulfilled another two years postdoc in the Design of Sustainable Energy Systems Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), in the Netherlands. He was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) in 2020. He was involved in many national and international projects as a PI, WP and task leader. Additionally, he is an Associate Editor in Frontiers in Energy, Solar Energy and Smart Grid Sections. He is also an IEEE senior member. 

Currently, he is a professor at Solar Energy Engineering program at the University of Freiburg, and also a senior scientist at the Smart Buildings and Infrastructure group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Norway. He is also the coordinator of an EU Horizon 2020 project “COLLECTiEF” - Collective Intelligence for Energy Flexibility.  

He authored numerous publications in internationally refereed journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His main research interests include Photovoltaics, Renewable Energy Systems, Energy Transition, Energy Flexibility, Autonomous Monitoring, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). 

 

Speaker IV: Prof. Hongyu Ren, Harbin Institute of Technology, China

Hongyu Ren is the associate professor and doctoral supervisor in School of Environment, Harbin Institute of Technology. He received his BS, MD and PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, China. After his PhD, he performed postdoctoral studies at the Harbin Institute of Technology, and visiting scholar studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests mainly include algae biofuels and high-value products, anaerobic fermentation/digestion, energy and resource recovery, biological treatment processes, sludge treatment and advanced oxidation process. He has published more than 70 research papers in international referred journals. He served as an editorial board member for Water, and was the Guest Editor for Water and Energies. He was awarded the Most Valued Reviewers in Bioresource Technology and Outstanding Reviewer in Energy Conversion and Management.
